Beatrice Salvatori

Titles

Adjunct Associate Research Scientist

Beatrice Salvatori is a postdoctoral research scholar in the Califano Lab. She joined the group in 2013 as a molecular biologist, bringing expertise in the dissection and analysis of non-coding RNA regulatory pathways relevant to human cancer. Applying this approach in the context of the multilayer regulation of gene expression, she is focusing on competing endogenous RNA- (ceRNA) derived networks as well as miRNA activity in breast tumors.

Prior to joining Columbia University, Beatrice spent one year as an AIRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow working on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in hematological malignancies in the lab of Irene Bozzoni (Sapienza University of Rome). She also obtained her PhD degree there in 2012, studying the role of miRNAs in acute myeloid leukemias.
