Graduate Student
Honig-Shapiro Lab

Filip Cosmanescu earned his bachelors in engineering from the Cooper Union and decided to pursue his interests in structural biology by joining Lawrence Shapiro’s lab as a technician.

After a year and a half of working on a variety of projects characterizing different cell adhesion molecules, he was accepted into the Biochemistry PhD Graduate Program at Columbia University and joined the Honig-Shapiro Lab.

His current research involves characterizing and understanding a variety of protein-protein interactions present in the Drosophila nervous system.
