Staff Associate II More information 

The Sims Lab in the Department of Systems Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Staff Associate II to provide computational biology and bioinformatics support to a large-scale immunological profiling project involving perturbation of live human tissues, single-cell genomics, and several other molecular profiling technologies. The effort will involve the development and application of platform technologies for analyzing vaccine responses as part of a team of investigators and researchers at Columbia. The Sims Lab has similar technology development efforts in cancer biology, and there will be opportunities to become involved in these projects as well.

Postdoctoral Research Scientist (Experimental)   More information 

The Califano Lab in the Department of Systems Biology at Columbia University is seeking exceptionally qualified candidates for multiple Postdoctoral Research Scientist positions. Successful candidates will have extensive wet-bench and single cell technology development expertise in to be involved in highly competitive research leading to highly innovative, high-impact publications. The ideal candidates shall have outstanding scientific credentials, including first-author publications and conference presentations relevant to the field of single cell biology. Candidates possessing a strong background in single-cell technology development and methodologies—such as CROP-Seq, perturb-Seq, ATAC-Seq, CITE-Seq and single cell library generation and profiling—combined with expertise in disciplines such as cell and molecular biology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry and related sciences will be especially well suited. Familiarity with computational biology approaches would be a useful addition but is not needed to fulfill the requirements for this position, as appropriate training will be provided by the lab. The optimal candidate would also have significant experience and publications in systems biology, including familiarity with regulatory/signaling networks and spatial representation of cellular transcripts and proteins, to elucidate the molecular determinants of specific cellular phenotypes and associated mechanisms in cancer.

The Rabadan Lab ( https://rabadan.c2b2.columbia.edu/ ) is a multi-disciplinary team at the Columbia University Medical Center consisting of computational and evolutionary biologists, applied mathematicians, physicists, and physicians. As part of the Departments of Systems Biology and Biomedical Informatics, we collaborate with clinicians and public health researchers from around the world to explore several disease systems, focusing particularly on the genetics and epidemiology of infectious diseases and cancer. As part of the Program for Mathematical Genomics we are building a vibrant community of researchers who use insights and techniques from computational topology and biological data to solve pressing biomedical problems.

Research Computing Specialist   More information 

The Staff Associate I, in the High-Throughput Screening Facility within the Judith P. Sulzberger Genome Center at the Columbia University Medical Center, will primarily be responsible for the execution of automated experiments within the lab, utilizing laboratory automation. Currently, the center features three automation pieces: the Cell::Explorer (Perkin Elmer), HighRes Bio, and a LabCyte Echo. In addition to the execution of assays the candidate will also perform routine quality assurance protocols to monitor lab automation performance and prevent systematic errors in our automated processes. Responsibilities also include but not limited to tracking consumable inventory, training users on basic instrument controls, use of informatics to process data, and scheduling instrument usage between users/assays. 

Data Analyst Manager   More information 

Columbia University's Department of Systems Biology is seeking a highly motivated genomics and computer science expert to join the Rabadan lab. The incumbent will take part in a cutting-edge project on untangling the molecular biology of cancer. The overarching approach is to generate and analyze deep whole exome and whole genome from both public and private data sets and develop visualization tool for these data. The candidate will work in a highly multidisciplinary environment and will support and interface the analysis of several projects from different lab members.
