Ajay Nair

Titles

Associate Research Scientist

Ajay Nair's work focuses on identifying and studying the regulatory mechanisms in cells. Specifically, he harnesses the power of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods, and apply them to high-throughput biological data to understand cell regulation. His current focus is to understand the aberrant regulatory mechanisms in cancer.

Nair's PhD thesis identified methods to a) incorporate prior biological information efficiently while inferring regulatory networks from data; and b) transfer regulatory interactions from well-sudied organisms to other organisms. He has also worked on dynamical models of cell regulatory networks, evolution of photosynthetic apparatus, and conservation of glycosylation in different domains of life.
