Garis' primary role at the Columbia Genome Center's High-Throughput Screening Facility is lead of informatics & data management. His responsibilities include systems maintenance, data storage, data analytics and visualization of High-Throughput data from different assays. Postbaccalaureate work at the University of Oregon's BioBE lab included data analysis and visualization relating to SARS-CoV-2 and its relationship to architectural environments.
